The Digital 4 All Campaign is officially live and the Parents’ Association is excited to be able to support the school in such a hugely important initiative. We believe that together as parents we can help CGS deliver an outstanding level of education to all our children.
The aim of the campaign is to ensure every student at the school has access to a digital device (a school-linked laptop) for the start of the new term in September, creating much needed consistency and equality across the student community. Equipping them with the most up-to-date teaching methods and resources, will enable every child to achieve their full potential.
Each laptop will cost the school in the region of £300. School already has funds in place to cover 50% of the cost of all the required devices. I am incredibly proud to confirm that the Parents’ Association has been able to donate a further £40,000 to the campaign. This represents two years of fundraising, and a huge effort by both past and current committee members and parents. It is fantastic that we have been able to contribute these hard-earned funds to such an important project. But the PA coffers are now empty!
None of us underestimate the incredibly difficult times we find ourselves in and the effort required to make this campaign a success, but we know that together everything is possible. So we are again asking for your support, to help us raise the rest of the money needed to fund this vital campaign for CGS. The timeframe is short, but we believe the target is achievable. We’ve broken down the costs to make things as clear as possible.
With the existing funds in place, we now need to raise around £110 per pupil per device. We know that is a lot to ask and not everyone can contribute that kind of sum to the campaign. Please be reassured that any help you can give, big or small, will help. If you’re not sure what to give we have come up with some options for you, to help us help school achieve its target:
1. Fund the full price of a device here
2. Set up a monthly payment of £37 for July, August and September here
3. Save £10 in a jam jar every week for the next 11 weeks and then donate here
4. Donate any other sum you can here
